Active and implemented projects

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the factors that contribute to better connected, more innovative, and more efficient support and advisory systems delivered by national and local agencies (business support organizations and chambers of commerce) to promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“Scaling the Regions” aims to properly address, leverage, and maximize the existing business support potential for regional competitiveness by networking relevant institutions across the cross-border region and improving and channeling their SME support practices.

The project duration is 36 months, from 13 December 2025 to 12 December 2028.

The Serbian European Digital Innovation Hub on AI (S4AI_HUB)project represents a central place for the development of applicable solutions and values that artificial intelligence and Industry 5.0 bring to the business environment of Serbia. As an initiative supported by the European Commission, S4AI_HUB supports startups, small and medium enterprises, and public administrations in understanding, integrating, and implementing AI technologies, helping them adapt and thrive in a dynamic and competitive business environment. The project aims to enable startups, small and medium enterprises, and public administration to design and implement strategies and solutions based on artificial intelligence and Industry 5.0. This way, organizations can improve their products and services, ensure long-term relevance in the market, and strengthen their position in an era of accelerated technological development. The project actively contributes to the development of an innovative business community in Serbia, committed to creating sustainable solutions and opportunities for the digital future.

The “BE Ready” project focuses on strengthening capacities for adaptation to climate change and disaster management related to environmental risks in the Danube region, specifically addressing urban heat islands (UHIs). In cooperation with 19 partners and 9 ASPs from 12 countries, the project introduces a new approach – “green acupuncture”, targeting small but effective, contextual interventions to combat UHIs in critical urban areas. Activities include testing solutions through “green”, “white”, and “blue acupuncture”, that is, interventions based on vegetation, innovative materials, and the use of water resources. Main results include methodologies and tools for UHI risk assessment, tested solutions in 9 pilot cities, a common strategy for improving climate change resilience, action plans, policy recommendations, and awareness campaigns. The project aims to effectively use joint knowledge for a better understanding of UHI effects and strengthening institutional capacities at the local and regional level.
