Lecture – Copyright and Related Rights in the Creative Industry with Examples from Practice
Why is protecting copyright and related rights important and what does that imply?
How much do you know about the segments of licensing and synchronization, the concepts of public announcement and streaming, and the rights of royalties?
We will get answers to these and other similar questions from the legal point of view, and also consider the methodology of the means by which the copyright holder or a holder of related rights acquires royalties from protected copyright and related rights in the creative industry sector including cultural heritage, visual art, TV and radio, performance art, music, advertising, gaming…
We will round off the discussion with a story about the whole process of protecting copyright and related rights and digital service distribution.
Our lecturers will be experienced experts from this domain – Srđan Mitrić, a lawyer with many years of experience with protecting copyright and related rights, and Dejan Pejović, a full professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, composer, designer, and sound engineer, who has received multiple international awards and nominations for his work.
The event is being organized within the “Knowledge and Skills for the Digital Age” event conducted by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and is being realized in cooperation with the Science and Technology Park Niš.
