The results of STP Niš’s work, which is home to almost 50 innovative high tech companies where over 500 young and highly educated people work, caused the STP Niš Director, dr Milan Ranđelović, to present STP Niš, its results and the manner of cooperation wit all players at the regional and national levels, and the activities of the Rpeublic of Serbia on the development of the innovational startup ecosystem, at the largest expo in the world.
During the week dedicated to knowledge and learning, at the panel discussion „Education – Starting an Entrepreneural Ecosystem“, one of the key topics dr Milan Ranđelović spoke about was precisely the necessity of training students for modern entrepreneural knowledge in the innovation era.
At this global conference, the Science and Technology Park Niš will contribute to the discussion which has the goal of providing answers – How to provide students with modern entrepreneural knowledge in the innovation era? How do countries of the world develop startup programs in cooperation with universities and support the development of a successful ecosystem of innovative startup entrepreneurship through infrastructure and tools such as science-technology parks?
Dr Milan Ranđelović was joined in the discussion by dr Madhavi Ayyagari, the director of the School Business at the Murdoch University in Dubai and Krisztian Kolkedi, the founder of the Hungarian Startup University Program.
Today, at the Forward 2021 conference held in Banja Luka, we talked about STP Niš experiences during the process of preparing and establishing the science and technology park itself, where the focus was on identifying the needs and key resources in the community. One of the key segments is also the work on improving the community itself, as well as the development of the innovation and startup ecosystems.
The Forward conference, organized by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska and the Innovation Centre Banja Luka, included important topics related to the development of the economy and application of digitalization, as well as the importance of science-technology parks on that road.


“What benefits does the digitalization of Post of Serbia services bring to citizens, where is the development of innovative access and services in their business at, and how can STP Niš startup companies hep with that”, was the topic of the discussion with the acting director of JP “Pošta Srbije” Zoran Đorđević.
During the tour of the Science and Technology Park Niš, representatives of our member companies presented their products related to the development of web and mobile applications, as well as the platforms applied for increasing eCommerce services. At the meeting, members of the Naissus Business Club were able to hear more about improving postal and logistical services and to present their companies and offer suggestions for this part of developing services of the Post of Serbia.
As a community of professionals in the field of information technologies, the Science and Technology Park Niš will take active part in the forthcoming process of digitalization and the formation of the Post of Serbia Data Center, because possibilities for applying innovative processes are more than favorable!
The signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Science and Technology Park Niš and the Post of Serbia as one of the largest and most significant public business systems represents a good example of how the digitalization of a public resource can be used and put into function for the development of an innovation ecosystem and the support for developing domestic innovative solutions and startup companies.
STP Niš member companies had the opportunity to present their potential suggestions and solutions for accelerating the activiti of digitalizing the Post of Serbia and thus contribute to or encourage an idea for modernizing Post of Serbia services down the line.
Nordic countries have long-lasting experience with innovative solutions and investments at the local level for developing smart cities where challenges turn into opportunities – waste becomes a resource, and water, waste, and energy are solved through an integrated manner.
The third “Circular economy – Nordic experiences” workshop conducted by the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden was held in the Science and Technology Park Niš.
STP Niš supported the presentation and promotion of leading countries in the field of circular economy, whose intention is to increase awareness of local partners about the importance of applying circular economy and to support Serbia in applying it through transfering Nordic experiences.
The field of environmental protection, energy efficiency, reduction of carbon emissions, and circular economy, are together a huge field with lots of space for innovations, for forming new startup companies, as well as for cooperation between scientific research institutions and the existing economy.
This week has passed as a week for environmental protection – how to use waste as a resource through the recycling process, how to solve the problem of wastewater, and how to develop innovations in this field.
The second session of the Club of cities and municipalities with the favorable business environment, organized by NALED and the City of Niš, was held in the Science and Technology Park Niš, where representatives of municipalities and cities discussed crossing over from a linear to a circular economy, all with the goal of increasing awareness about environmental protection.
The focus of the session was on exchanging opinions on what kind of support cities and municipalities need in order to be successful in this process.
While touring STP Niš, members of the BFC club and NALED had the opportunity to get acquainted with the capacities of the Science and Technology Park Niš and the potential of our member companies.
