The City of Niš presented as an Example of Good Practice at the Моbility 2022 – Smart Spaces for Living Business Conference

Yesterday, within the Mobility 2022 business conference held in Ljubljana, we had the opportunity to present the City of Niš as an example of good practice as a city developing rapidly in the field of applying innovations and high technologies.

At the “Joint Creation of Future Cities” round table, we looked back on how we grew from a city of electronics into a city of advanced technologies, which solutions and methods we turned to, and what our focuses were on that path of rebranding the southeastern Serbia region.\

The Mobility 2022 – Smart Spaces for Living conference put the discussion emphasis on the main points of living and working in a smart living environment through examples of cities in the Western Balkan region, considering possible solutions for the individual and the community as well as corporate business regarding smart spaces of the future.

When Ideas Become Reality

The Science and Technology Park Niš marked its second business year with the event “STP Niš 2.0 – When Ideas Become Reality!

We have recapitulated the realized activities with the local partners and associates with whom we have achieved set goals in the previous period, and announced some significant projects and ideas whose implementation we will be working on in the coming period.

In the past two years, we have made the effort to become a center of gathering for the innovative community, especially in the Southern and Eastern Serbia Region.

In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, in just two years we have managed to organize over 100 events which were attended by more than 5000 people interested in the field of technology entrepreneurship. We have hosted over 20 high profile delegations. We formed the Regional Network for the development of technological entrepreneurship and organized a series of workshops and mentorship sessions. We have successfully finished work on the Key Services of STP Niš List, the development of the Business Model, and the STP Niš Development Strategy for the period until 2030.

Of course, the fact we are the most proud of is that, in the previous period, there were more than 100 applications for our public calls by interested parties and that we have become a community consisting of 50 innovative member companies which employ over 500 highly educated experts!

Within the STP Niš 2.0 event, in cooperation with the Local Foundation Niš (LFN), we organized a humanitarian auction, where 20 items were being auctioned off and whose sale provided 441.200 dinars. Among the items, there was sports equipment, there were paintings, sports and cultural event vouchers, as well as items provided by the Novak Đoković Foundation – a sweatband, a ball, and a shirt with Novak Đoković’s signature that was auctioned off for a fantastic sum of 62.000 dinars! All the money will be invested in developing and improving the look of the city by supporting formal and informal citizen groups in Niš at contests opened by LFN.

After the work part, we finished the marking of the two years of business with a birthday party intended for Science and Technology Park Niš members envisioned as an informal gathering of member companies and their employees, whose realization the company Motorola also took part in.

Now, as June 9 2022 has passed, the first phase of forming the Park in the infrastructural and organizational sense has been completed; going forward, some new projects and challenges await us, whose realization we will be working on devotedly, as we have until now.

STP Niš is a participant at the 64th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, the Science and Technology Park Niš got the opportunity to present its member companies at this year’s Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements held in Belgrade in the period from May 24 to May 27.

During the four days of the Fair, visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with products, projects, and services STP Niš member companies are working on at our stand.

Our Gaming Corner attracted the most attention, and the bravest guests enjoyed the charms of virtual reality.

Branko Ružić, Minister of Education, Science, and Technological Development, and Dr. Nebojša Ranđelović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, also got acquainted with our member companies’ products.
