The Area in Front of STP Niš to Get Monuments to Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin

Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin, two great figures whose scientific achievements have left an indelible mark on the world, will soon have their own place in Niš.

The City of Niš has launched a competition for the development of conceptual designs for monuments that will be installed in front of the Science and Technology Park Niš. The proposed solutions should be contemporary, distinctive, and in harmony with the character of the location, which serves as a meeting point for science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The competition allows for the use of modern technologies, interactive content, and various visual elements. Authors are also expected to incorporate lighting solutions and accompanying street furniture in the immediate surroundings of the monuments. The designs will also include bilingual inscriptions in Serbian and English.

With the construction of monuments dedicated to Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin, the area in front of the Science and Technology Park Niš will gain a new symbolic and visual identity, further connecting the legacy of these great scientists with a space focused on the technologies and innovations of the future.

A prize of RSD 800,000 has been allocated for the best conceptual design, while the deadline for submissions is September 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon.

The winning proposal will be selected by a nine-member jury, which includes Miloš Grozdanović, Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Park Niš.

We invite authors to contribute their ideas to shaping a new and distinctive landmark of Niš and to give a contemporary expression to the legacy of Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin. We look forward to proposals that creatively and innovatively connect the significance of their scientific legacy with the character of the area in front of STP Niš — a place dedicated to knowledge, innovation, and the technologies of the future.

The competition has been published on the Public Procurement Portal.
