The research conducted by the Deli Space shows that 41 coworking spaces which gather tenants from many fields on a daily basis are functioning in Serbia. Coworking has become a practical solution for office space, especially in the time of the pandemic, when any kind of event and meeting has been directed towards online platforms. During this period, business flexibility has become an imperative.
As much as remote work is less demanding in the sense of better organization of work hours, the distance from office space brings not-so-good benefits. According to several studies, remote work means less communication and experience and opinion sharing, which can lead to less creative ideas further down the line. In order for an innovation and startup culture to be constantly improving, good ideas are necessary; this is where the significance of coworking communities is reflected the most.
At this event, we will discuss the topic of coworking communities, who their tenants are, what the advantages of this kind of work are, and what the possibilities of developing local communities in different fields are.
People who spoke at the event are:
Milan Babić – Deli Space for Creative Work (Niš)
Željko Crnjaković – InfostudHub (Subotica)
Sara Milosavljević – Impact Hub (Belgrade)
Ivana Damnjanović – Space for POMAK (Zaječar)

STP Niš and the EU Info Point have organized a Startup Breakfast on Friday, November 19, where the discussion topic was “EU programs – possibilities for my business.”
The development of the idea and the concept makes up a significant part of work for anyone who is starting their own business, but the fact is that many young companies do not have enough resources for investing in starting and development. When facing these challenges, some of the EU business support programs can be of great assistance.
The projects the EU finances in Serbia encourage new job openings, as well as the economic and technological progress, which, when combined, contributes to a better economic environment.
During the Startup Breakfast, Danijela Vučić, the manager of the EU Info Point, presented several of the available EU funds, spoke about financing possibilities, and presented some of the success stories.
Small and medium-sized companies, as well as companies from Serbia, can apply for financial resources through several projects and programs, such as the Innovation Fund, EU PRO Plus, EU for Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Erasmus for young entrepreneurs, while numerous financial instruments are also available through the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The EU Info Point in Niš is a part of the EUINFO network of Information Centers of the EU Delegation in Serbia, whose mission is primarily to inform about and present activities that the EU is conducting in Serbia and the possibilities available to everyone.
For anyone who wants their idea to explode on the market, the call for the Univerzum program is open until November 17.
Even though the domestic startup ecosystem is very dynamic and provides numerous opportunities for development, many teams cannot fight the numerous challenges and their innovative ideas do not reach the market. For this very reason, in order to provide teams with the opportunity to develop their business opportunities with modern tools and top notch skills, the University of Belgrade and the company “Mozzart” have started the Univerzum startup accelerator.
Univerzum provides educational, mentorship, and financial support, and consists of several carefully created parts. Thanks to the Center for Technology Transfer of the University of Belgrade team, more than 40 experienced mentors and lecturers from the country and abroad will participate in the program. From an intensive Bootcamp training, through the accelerator phase, the program takes the participants through the further development of the solution until the final event where they ought to showcase their full potential to investors and convince them that they are ready for an investment.
Aside from that, chosen teams are provided with six months of using the coworking space in the middle of Belgrade for free, as well as an initial financial support of 25.000 Euros.
After the end of the program the support does not stop, because when chosen teams enter the ALUMNI network, they get the ability to use different resources and contacts.
Every part of Univerzum is carefully designed to provide teams with the best support, so that they can develop and realize their innovative business opportunities and take a great step towards conquering the market!
All information, including the application form, can be found on the website www.univerzum.info.
